Why are you receiving this package?

We understand this is a difficult moment for the world and our thoughts go out to all those affected by the outbreak of COVID- 19. During this crisis, the safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. At Focus Shoulder Specialists, we are taking precautionary measures to do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19. We are asking all patients who are experiencing symptoms of any respiratory virus to call the office to reschedule upcoming appointments. Specifically, this means anyone who has or recently had a:

Fever and is coughing, sneezing or having difficulty breathing.

Additionally, if you have travelled overseas in the last 30 days or think you have been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 Virus please do not attend your appointment, call the office to advise us of your exposure and reschedule your appointment. We are currently only seeing well patients in our practice.

You can also refer to the website below for the most up to date information:

We will continue to operate with your safety and well-being in mind; and provide you the highest of quality service during this difficult time.

FOR ALL NEW & EXISTING PATIENTS

Dr Dan, and our advisory team on a weekly basis, review all patients who are scheduled to attend an appointment or have upcoming surgery. We will review the safety for you to attend your appointment or have surgery.

This is in the context of:

  • The latest government recommendations
  • Specific hospital protocols at St Andrews or Calvary Central Districts Hospitals

We will contact you directly if we have any specific concerns regarding your appointment or surgery.

In addition to the above screening, Focus Shoulder Specialists will broaden our teleconference services. We will offer all new and existing patients a secure virtual assessment via our teleconference facilities. This is encouraged.

Your only IT requirement is to have a:

  • Email address
  • Internet connection
  • Web cam with audio

Our office team will send you an email link prior to your in-office appointment. You simply need to click on the link 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Troubleshooting: If you have any technical difficulties at the time, no need for concern. Simply call the practice and we will conduct a phone review.

Dr Dan can remotely access most x-rays and scans (you do not need to have the scans).

For patients attending their appointment in person

We would like to request that for scheduled in-office appointments, we ask for family and friends to remain in the car, or external building area while patients are treated. This will meet our requirement for social distancing measures.

Regional & Country Patients:

We highly encourage our country and regions patients to utilise our secure virtual assessment via our teleconference facilities over the internet. This will avoid extensive travel and benefit patient and society in enforcing social distancing measures.

We are not closing the Focus Shoulder Specialists offices unless it is mandated to do so. We are here for you and your family. We are assessing the situation daily and remain vigilant for the health and safety of all.

Please take the time to fill the on-line health form on the following link prior to your appointment:
https://focusshoulder.com.au/patient-form/

Your health situation can be assessed prior to your appointment and Dr Dan can advise accordingly. Despite the current predicament we can still assess your shoulder safely and provide sound advice.

Thank you for your understanding and if you have any special concerns, please contact our office on (08) 83662226 or email info@focusshoulder.com.au
